Ford isn’t perfect in cronyism terms. At the height (the fist one) of the economic crisis they unloaded nearly $16 billion in commercial paper right onto the tax payer. But Ford is certainly no Government Motors. A recent ad lays it out on the line.
Chris (the owner of the new F-150) says: “I wasn’t going to buy another car that was bailed out by our government. I was going to buy from a manufacturer that’s standing on their own: win, lose, or draw. That’s what America is about is taking the chance to succeed and understanding when you fail that you gotta’ pick yourself up and go back to work. Ford is that company for me.”
As stated above, Ford doesn’t get a bye from us on cronyism, but we’ll give them this commercial.
