White House Visitor Logs Not public, Judge Rules

Here’s one bit I will give the President. He has made at least some of the visitor logs public, but not all, which is an important point. Other presidents have held visitor logs even more closely.

Regardless the public should know who’s coming in and out of the White House, who’s lobbying the president, who the staff is schmoozing with.

The DC Court of Appeals does not agree with me however.

(From The Washington Free Beacon)

“White House visitor records have proven of enormous value to the public in exposing the outside influences brought to bear on presidential decisions and policies,” CREW executive director Melanie Sloan said in a statement. “With this ruling, that window on the White House is now shut.  Although President Obama has chosen to make the visitor logs public, future presidents can freely leave the public in the dark.”
