The tech sector is the most dynamic part of the American economy. One reason for this is that tech companies have traditionally focused on producing ever better products at lower and lower prices rather than with gaming the political system. Think about what your cell phone looked like just 5 years ago, what it cost you, and what its capabilities were.
That is the market.
It is a remarkable fact that Apple became the largest company in the world for a while with almost no lobbyist presence. The company just produced better and better products and the marketplace rewarded it. The only Apple subsidies coming out of Washington went to farmers.
But this may be changing as the crony capitalist system increasingly infects our engine of innovation.
