Highly sensitive national security secrets were leaked from Hilary Clinton’s Department of State and the White House to the Times in exchange for positive spin from the newspaper. Given the zeal with which this White House has gone after leakers, invoking the Espionage Act more than any other administration before by far, the revelation is especially damning.
But as Judge Napolitano explains, it’s not like the Justice Department is going to prosecute anyone for this.
This isn’t even the first time this sort of thing has happened with the New York Times. The president this past August met with the editorial board to make sure the paper would support his effort for go into Syria. Before that it was reported that a Maureen Dowd column had been vetted by the CIA.
This sort of press/government collusion is not healthy for a free society.
