What is with the hawks? They just can’t help themselves. That Graham is in now with casino magnate and neocon billionaire Sheldon Adelson probably has something to do with his new interest in the presidency. Now all ole’ Lindsey has to do is get some people who will actually vote for him. That’s going to be tough.
I have to say though that Lindsey Graham doing his thing in the presidential debates on a national stage would be highly entertaining and could possibly nail the coffin shut on the big government, pro-war neocons once and for all. That would be nice. Throw in Rick Santorum and his brand of big government “conservatism” and I’ve got material for months.
In an interview with The Weekly Standard on the re-emergence of war hawk voices within the GOP, in light of the current U.S. fight against the Islamic terrorist network ISIS, Graham throws it out therethat if he wins reelection to the Senate this November, he’ll start looking into possibly running for president in 2016.
“If I get through my general election, if nobody steps up in the presidential mix, if nobody’s out there talking—me and McCain have been talking—I may just jump in to get to make these arguments,” he said.
By the way. Way to go South Carolina GOP, letting this guy get through the primaries again.
