If you don’t have a drivers license with a tracking chip you are not getting on a plane come 2016 according to this article. Official uses are defined as accessing Federal facilities, entering nuclear power plants, and boarding Federally-regulated commercial aircraft. If your state doesn’t start offering the REAL ID’s, the government is going to prevent you from flying unless you have your passport and possibly other forms of ID if necessary.
