“If you’re walking ’round think’n that the world owes you something ’cause you’re here
You goin’ out the world backwards like you did when you first come here yeah”
-The Staple Singers, Respect Yourself
This is the idiocy we are dealing with. Some think that if they are just earnest enough, “progressive” enough, willfully ignorant enough, that supply and demand (you know, economic reality) will no longer apply.
Check the part in the video below when Neil Cavuto explains to this girl that if the 1% was taxed at 100% there wouldn’t be enough money to pay just for her pet causes. She responds by saying, “I just don’t believe that.”
OK. Don’t believe it all you want but that’s REALITY. Sorry. These “activists” are no different from the kids I knew in school who had no idea how the world actually worked but had been told their whole lives how smart they were and so they reveled in their alternate delusional political and economic realities.
If you want economic justice fight to REDUCE student aid which goes into the pockets of universities which continually raise tuition. If you want economic justice work to REDUCE the size of government which strangles entrepreneurs and young people entering the working world. If you want to get all punk rock about it, work to SMASH the state. Don’t expand it. What is wrong with these people? – Seriously there is something wrong, really wrong.
Enjoy the clip. It’s highly entertaining.
And before you go demanding things that make no sense, and go talking about things of which you have little understanding, I suggest you listen to the below song and really consider taking it to heart.
