How much weirder is this election going to get? If history is an indication (and it usually is) probably weirder still.
Looks like the old FBI is expanding its investigation into Ms. Clinton’s time as Secretary of State beyond her email issues.
“The agents are investigating the possible intersection of Clinton Foundation donations, the dispensation of State Department contracts and whether regular processes were followed,” one source said.
An investigation into cronyism. Interesting.
And what happens if Ms. Clinton is indicted? I don’t see her stopping her campaign. Indeed kicking the campaign into ultra high gear may be seen as the best defense, which will change calculations and create interesting political inflection points outside of what is typical for a presidential race to be sure.
Biden is already saying he wished he hadn’t bowed out. (I think he’s probably happy he bowed out but is playing things up. Given his alleged propensity for skinny dipping in front of female Secret Service members it’s probably for the best that he has passed on this election.) Michael Bloomberg is reportedly considering a run. Bernie still appears legit even though it does appear that he’s running for vice president at this point.
Can you imagine a convention with an indicted nominee? An indicted Hilary Clinton? Weird. Makes the vice presidential choice much more important all of a sudden. Can you imagine the fire shooting from Nancy Pelosi’s eyes? And then what if Clinton wins? Much weirder still.
So 2 lines of investigation for the FBI, corruption and the private server issue. OK.
ACC is a completely non-partisan organization. We do not support/endorse or oppose any candidate for office. We believe that both major parties are heavily influenced by special interests and will report on crony capitalism wherever and whenever we see it.
