This was the ethics guy appointed by Barack Obama. So that needs to be kept in mind.

Former President Barack Obama appointed Shaub to the position, which he has held since January 2013. His five-year term was to expire in January 2018.
Shaub told The Washington Post that he was not resigning under pressure – from the White House or elsewhere. Instead, he told The Post, he had achieved all that he thought was possible in his role under the Trump administration.
“It’s clear that there isn’t more I could accomplish,” he said.
The resignation comes on heels of months of clashes with the White House on a range of issues, including President Donald Trump’s refusal to divest his global business empire and the administration’s delay in disclosing how many waivers Trump granted to ex-lobbyists in his new administration.
