Regular readers may have noticed our particular interest in Irma. Her strength is amazing of course and worthy of attention even from a website primarily focused on economic and political matters. But once Irma comes ashore in the USA, and it looks like she will, things will get very interesting from a political and economic perspective.
How will we deal with shortages? Who gets what rations? What infrastructure is damaged? How will we rebuild this infrastructure? The economic and political questions will be many and they will be complex.
If Irma remains as strong as she is now her legacy will be profound. It will take quite a storm to eclipse Harvey, but Irma may.
