‘Black Swan author’ Nassim Taleb – Journalists write for other journalists, not for their readers (For the record, that is not the case here.) VIDEO

Just imagine little red iPhones instead.

This, Taleb explains, contributes to a hive mind, an intellectual monoculture, all too often. It’s safe (from a career perspective) to say what everyone else says. It’s safe to take cues from the “official” punditry (well funded punditry) at places like CNN and The Washington Post. This is the way it also works in high school and in government. Conform, always conform.

Thankfully however there are people like Taleb who think for themselves. And it is these thinkers who in the long run move history.
