Wow, I wonder why ratings are off so much? Boy…Just a mystery. Huh… It’s like viewers don’t like hypocrisy or condescension or something.

According to Nielsen’s fast-national numbers (which are not adjusted for time zones), the 2018 Oscars and its pre-show averaged a 5.8 rating/21 share and 22.4 million total viewers from 7-11 p.m. ET. That is way down from 2017’s 7.4/23 and 27.4 million total viewers, which come from the same data set.
