Sessions declines to appoint second special counsel – for now


How long Sessions can hold out on this we will see. But this is a step forward.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions revealed in a letter to lawmakers Thursday that he had named a top federal prosecutor to examine Republican-led allegations of surveillance abuse within the Department of Justice (DOJ), but had stopped short for the time being from appointing a second special counsel as many in the GOP wanted.
