Sorry but it has always felt like former CIA Director Brennan, who as should always be noted once voted for the Communist candidate for president (in 1976), has been trying to save his skin since Trump came in. His theory is a good offense is a good defense. And to date his tack has generally been effective. But, and I know this isn’t the conventional wisdom, the positions of Brennan and of many of the other “deep state” leftovers from the Obama era are becoming increasingly tenuous. Brennan knows that a slight shift in the battlefield could put him directly in the line of political fire. If that happens then Brennan’s whole crew is in serious trouble. And by whole crew I mean Obama/Clinton/DNC. (Isn’t it great that we have such a ridiculously partisan former CIA Director? Just a testament to Washington we think.)
Brennan and the “deep state” are trying to make a stand around Comey’s book. Because after that, the next line of defense is the election. (Though there are sure to be plenty of “leaks” about Trump from the “deep state” between now and November.) There’s a lot of no-mans-land for Brennan to cover if Comey’s counter offensive doesn’t work – again.
One other note. “Kakistocracy“? Brennan you worked for Barrack Obama. OBAMA. Please spare us.
A kakistocracy is a form of government in which the worst persons are in power.
Brennan has been a regular critic of Trump, warning last month that lawmakers who protect him will face “a reckoning.”
This is interesting because what Brennan is really concerned with is that the “reckoning” is coming for him. For a spy of his caliber he really is letting his panic show. But we can’t blame him. We wouldn’t want to be in his position either.
If anything, his criticisms have become more pronounced in the last few months.
Trump lashed out at Comey in a pair of tweets early Friday, calling him a “leaker & liar” and an “untruthful slime ball.”
