Democratic Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar admitted Saturday that the Obama admin attempted to cover up the child migrant crisis

The situation going on along our border is tragic. But no one should be under the impression that this is a new thing. That monster Trump just doesn’t care about hispanic children etc etc. This is the trope.

The reason for the current attention is because this spring’s “refugee march” up through Mexico failed utterly to create the media buzz that was intended. It was a massive PR failure. Then, as the Russia investigation lost steam while Trump gathered steam there was an effort to find something, anything, to slow Trump’s general momentum post G7, and summit.

This isn’t just some random thing that just erupted on the border.

It must also be noted that what is happening in the Southwest is a classic case of big government screwing things up. First we entice people to come across the border with a generous welfare state in hopes that these people will then one day VOTE for more government, essentially the Democratic Party. Then we impose minimum wages which shut out domestic workers and create demand for off the books “illegal” workers. Then as people react to this influx and dislocation in society some look again to government to solve the problem government created in the first place, and in so doing more disruption is created in people’s lives.

The answer is simple. End the welfare state as we know it. End the drug war.

“It was kept very quiet under the Obama administration. There were large numbers of people coming in. The Obama administration was trying to keep this quiet,” Cuellar told CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield.

Whitfield displayed a 2014 image of migrant children held in cages at a detention center, and Cuellar said that he released similar photos of children separated from their parents.

Cuellar added that the number of children being held at the border right now is similar to the amount during the Obama administration.
