Clapper: Brennan’s rhetoric is becoming an issue

It needs to be noted that one of the reasons a number of people in the intel community have come out against the revoking of Brennan’s security clearance is because for them THEIR security clearance is vital to their post government work as contractors etc.

These folks who work as military contractors and in the surveillance state want such clearances to be sacrosanct. It’s part of how the crony system works for many senior government officials. The assumption has always been that these clearances would not be revoked post government work. This is important as the security clearances in many respects are many people’s meal tickets. A president, Trump or otherwise, who starts looking critically at such clearances could mean money out of many people’s pockets.

Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) on Thursday took aim at Brennan for “purport[ing] to know, as fact, that the Trump campaign colluded with a foreign power.”

“If his statement is based on intelligence he has seen since leaving office, it constitutes an intelligence breach.
