Trump Administration Seeks Public Comments On Marijuana Reclassification


The Drug War is deeply crony. It benefits parts of the government. It protects the profits of Pharma. It keeps the prison industry humming along. It keeps the drug cartels happy.

Right now cannabis is a “schedule 1 drug.” This means that according to the government marijuana has no therapeutic use. Pot is in the same class as heroin. Such a classification has never made sense, but in light of recent pro-cannabis reforms across the country a schedule 1 classification makes even less sense now.

It looks like the Trump administration might be considering a change however. It’s possible. But we have little hope for progress on this point with Mr. Sessions as AG.
