Amazon’s HQ2 Selection Drama Enters Its Final Act

After almost two years of courting by cities across the country, it appears that Amazon is close to selecting the site (or sites) for its new headquarters complex.

Amazon’s promise of investing up to $5 billion and creating 50,000 jobs, has no doubt had local and state governments offering subsidies, land deals, low interest loans and other incentives on a massive scale.

We can only hope that those incentives don’t create a deficit that won’t be offset by the increased economic growth, leaving the taxpayers to foot the bill.
