We’re on the other side of the holidays and NOW they’re going on “strike”? OK.
Please do call out sick. Please do not show up for your jobs. Please let us figure out a much better way to do airline security. Please go away if you must. But we say this with the full knowledge that you are probably only trying to make a living, something that we respect deeply.
The TSA should not be in the United States. It was a massive government overreach in the wake of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks. The government took the public panic and ran with it. The federal government should never be as in your face as the TSA is. The government should be unseen to the maximum degree possible. The TSA just seems in many respects a flag for statism.
Remember also that if one flies on a private jet, like so many of the people who make policy decisions, one does not need to go through TSA screenings. Nope, just the great unwashed.
The pilots may check the ID of the lead passenger; otherwise, you will be loaded and on your way within minutes of arrival at the airport. At some private airports, you can actually pull your car up to the aircraft, unload and have valet (service for) your car, so you could be in the air within minutes.”
Sounds nice. That is clearly the way to travel. If one has the means…
Two of the sources, who are federal officials, described the sick outs as protests of the paycheck delay. One called it the “blue flu,” a reference to the blue shirts worn by transportation security officers who screen passengers and baggage at airport security checkpoints.
